Last night I had a wonderful evening. It’s so good to see the world from another angle, once on a while. And on good company like yesterday, such occasions become truly memorable. (This is referencing a delicious dinner together with iivo and Laurie and Elanore at a local restaurant, which are now finally open again to us after the pandemic shit down of the past more than a year!)
I cold not resist and took The Hiding Place audiobook to bed with me. It is a good story, the way it started. It reminds me of life in Europe, which is in general much more - well - familial than here. The way the whole city responded to the 100-year birthday party of the shop is oh so true.
There is only one thing missing: the continuance of the story. I listened to it up to the moment when father came down the stairs for breakfast, punctual as always, when the story stopped. No pushing of buttons could revive it, not even a re-start. It looks like the download stopped. We got to get together and ‘exchange thoughts.’
Until then, enjoy this beautiful day that’s shaping up!
